I am developing my simpits based on CAN network.

And because i don't have sufficient(free) room for a 1:1 pit, i have to make them flexible and space friendly.

Here is my first try, build the UFC with a HMI screen.

Due to the high resolution of this 7 Inch IPS panel, the refresh rate is a little bit slow, but still acceptable.

First time posting a youtbue video, not sure whether it works or not.

How are you doing the interface?

It’s the built in program interface from the vendor of HMI SCREEN.

Is this program something that would work on other touchscreens? Look great BTW!

It's not a windows program. It's a HMI touch screen from industrial usage. Interactive interface need pre-programmed in the device, and accept commands/send responding.

From your links in the video, It looks like you are getting data from Helios, is this correct? Are you going to share once finished, because this is awesome. Can you share the screen manufacturer?

IKARUS has this same functionality. You essentially create two images (on/off) when one Off is the static image and on is the interaction. Look in my signature to see my blog; you'll see a custom UFC I've created using a similar technique.

The nice thing about the touch interface is it can be customized for any aircraft (A10, F14, M2, etc.)

Exactly IKARUS.

The model I used is TJC1060X570_011C from China, the reasonable price with 7 inch IPS panel.

I have some similar model with TN panel which the view angle totally not acceptable.

The programming of screen is varies from vendors, it's communicating by UART command, hence you need some windows coding skills to receive DCS Exported data and translate it to UART.

I was lazy at that point, so i only create the 18 UFC. One of the down side of touch screen is lack of muscle feed back. Geeks love the clicks of toggle/buttons. :megalol:

Thanks Guppy. I just got my last center panels from Hispapanels so it’s time to finish the front. Given Helios state of flux, Ikarus is something I need to look more into. I printed Brun’s UFC which looks great but I can’t find displays that fit so a hybrid super hornet style UFC that displays info is very promising.
