The Spitfire has the only effect of overpriming fire.

The Mustang does have some fire that can jet out a ways from the exhaust stacks, but it is never seen in-game. I only found the effect through the modelviewer. I would expect it to be seen at times such as when you cut the throttle sharply, and the engine backfires, but that's not in-game either. But obviously, the Mustang does not have overpriming flames.

There's a need for oil smoke when doing a cold start. It's another way to see if you primed the engine too much. This has especially GOT to be a thing for the R-2800.

The lack of effects is actually an immersion killer, and DCS leave much to be desired in the current state of these non-everlasting visuals.

Also, I believe that the startups for the carbureted engines are really linear. I can start up the Mustang with DCS muted and myself blindfolded, if I tried. There's a distinct lack of variance, and it doesn't match the startups I've seen in most videos and films, from now to during the war. This also leaves much to be desired.

Not as important, but I would also like to see vortices off blade tips for propeller and rotary aircraft. But I would expect that this wouldn't be a thing for some time, if it were to even be attempted. I heard the weather system will get an slight overhaul, but it's a ways off.

Any word, if possible from someone in the know would be appreciated greatly

Fair.

I would edit the title now, but apparently I can't. Will edit post though.

Regardless, this is something I would like to see eventually. Or maybe somehow someone mods them in.
