Larkis Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 I saw some videos where the pilot tracked a target via radar, switch VSI to TV and see a good pichture of the target. Mostly when i try it i just see a black dot in the middle (target was 80-100nm aways, on the border of Phoenix Range). When i tried the pulse radar tutorial as Rio, locked a target (i think 20nm away) and switch to TV mode i also just see a black dot in the middle. Is there a way to zoom in for visual identification?
dSAF Dancer Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 80-100 miles won't give a good picture (old tech) but the human rio can zoom in one step to make spotting easier. Jester can't do this afaik. QuiGon Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 The RIO can zoom in quite a lot. Don't know if Jester uses the zoom function though. A hum an RIO definitely can. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
key_stroked Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Fyi, you can copy any command from the keyboard or joystick default.lua files in the Input folder to the Pilot's default.lua file, and thus give the pilot position the ability to map those RIO functions to your keyboard or HOTAS. Basically you can control anything from the RIO pit you want while in the pilot seat, with the disadvantage of not seeing the actual switches/buttons. Also note that every patch will reset these default.lua files, so you have to keep backups and constantly update these files after every patch.
