It is WIP guys, but not top priority atm. We hope to move it up the ladder soon, we know how bad you want it, it is noted.

 

So disappointed in heathblur ..being asking them directly and in all forums for a Pilot body for VR since they lauched the F14 and by the look of things they do not care about that at all....it has been over a year....and their pilot body is no where to be seen in their development line.....they are not that great of a developer...the pilot body should have been enabled at launch (the commands exist in the game).....specially since you can see there is a pilot body from jester point of view...so it is there.....refusing to make it visible to it is definitely not a good job ....I totally disagree with you.... without a pilot body in VR breaks the immersion... their customer service sucks....i have asked them over 6 times directly and all I get from them is thank you for your kind patience...

I am very sorry that you feel this way. But good things need time, and what is visible from Jester's side is not what you would see from first person view. Just on a sidenote. It is not always as straight forward as you guys may think, and unfortunately "pilot body" does not fall under the "playable/ not playable" categorie of items that will make or break your gaming experience regardless of your taste or personal preferences. We get it. Pilot bodies are really important to most of you. Not to all of us, but many. That is ok. But they are not a necessity like many other things we unfortunately have to deal with, because if we do not, the plane does become 100% unplayable. We're still on the exit stretch of this phase of development, during early access, may I remind you kindly. We promised the pilot bodies will come before or with final release, whenever we can fit them in. And we will fit them in as soon as we can. But asking the same question 6 times, will not make them come faster, I am sorry about this, but what else do you expect me to answer on repeated inquiries? Thank you for your kind patience means: please understand that we do the best we can and please be so kind and show a bit patience with us. I explained numerous times why our pilot bodies take longer, graphical detail, animations that need to somewhat match the external animations (what you see from the outside and from the RIO/pilot seat in front you or behind you), and so on. Please give us the time to do it right. That is all I can say. On release, latest, they will be there, and we hope much sooner than that. The former I can promise, the latter we hope for just as much as you do. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Thank you and the entire team for this wonderful sim. The joy I get flying the '14 is beyond beyond. Of ALL the developers creating DCS planes, including ED itself, HB is the one that consistently delivers and the ONLY one I trust when something says "early access". And I trust HB because they've earn that trust.

 

Even your latest response to the pilot body issue is refreshing. There's another DCS modual that has been out way longer than the 14, has game killing bugs, and getting straight talk from them is like pulling teeth.

 

It's refreshing. I'd rather have a straight talking developer tell me 'no', then one that tells me 'yes' then doesn't deliver - seemingly ever.

@ironmike - thanks for the response! Most of us can get by in VR without pilot body. It's just great to know it will happen one way or another.

Just a heads up in case Heatblur are still working on this module. Just watched Top Gun for the first time since I was a kid and then I saw the sale today and was hyped up and about to hit purchase, but then I went to check if there was a pilot body yet. Looks like the answer is still no? Sheesh. Well, I waited this long, guess I can wait a bit longer.

It is still work in progress, and due to our more complex animations, it takes longer. We know how much you want it, but it will still take a while. Thank you for your kind patience in the meantime.
