Hey everyone. Does anyone have both the Warthog and X55 sticks and if so, which of the X55 springs best matches the spring on the Warthog stick.

I am trying to decide which of the X55 springs is best to go with and it makes sense to try at match what a high end stick feels like.

recently got a TM Warthog... got also an X56 (not X55 but I presume the springs are the same) which I've used for my DCS.

I've had the hardest spring in for the last few months before switching to the warthog and although the feel improved a bit, the warthog is on a whole different level.

The X56 just feels a bit "notchy" with the strong spring... the Warthog is "hard" to move but it's smooth in its operation.

Get the warthog, it's totally worth it. You won't regret it ;)

I know exactly what you mean by that "notchy" feeling. The more I fly the Tomcat, the more I am realizing a high quality stick is needed.

I have both a warthog and an X55.

I will do a comparison for you later when I get home from work and post my result here.

Cheers

I found a touch of heavy oil or grease (I used assembly lube) on the bottom of the disc that holds the spring in place really helps reduce the notchiness, it helps the disc slide against the base.

Thanks for the tip!

I see you have the X56..are you using the heaviest spring for that?

I used to have both (but eventually moved to VPC base + warthog handle combo), and I have to say - none of X55 springs would match to warthog. The warthog's spring is just insanely hard. A high end stick should not feel like that :). Yes, the handle feels very high end, but that huge force produced by the spring does not at all.

I bounce between the 2 middle springs.

I use lithium grease on mine and it works wonders, also doesn't need reapplying for a long time!
