Matchstick Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I've run into a weird problem where the Open Beta DCS release v2.5.4.29585 is reading the config files from the C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS directory not C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta as it was previously. Is there a setting anywhere that controls where the Open Beta looks for config files that I can check to see if something has got corrupted ? (I've tried a standard repair without any success)
Rudel_chw Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 In the DCS root folder, create a text file called "dcs_variant.txt" with the one word suffix you want to use for your save folder i.e. If "dcs_variant.txt" is openbeta the save folder will be called "DCS.openbeta" If "dcs_variant.txt" is test the save folder will be called "DCS.test" If the save folder with the .suffix doesn't exist, it is created when DCS is run. Matchstick Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 Brilliant ! No idea how or why I removed this file in the first place but a new one has done the trick. Cheers for the quick answer on that :)
