C3PO Posted April 18, 2019 Author Posted April 18, 2019 Just done a reinstall and no joy either - same result. Rudel_chw Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Tried the Repair function and no luck. DCS has two main places on your PC: One is the program itself, stored at /Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/ ... the repair tool only check this location. The other place is at /Saved Games/ ... there you will find a DCS or DCS.openbeta folder, where DCS stores the User's configuration, Misssions, screenshots, etc. Since your problem persists, even after the repair, you should now check if it's cause is at /saved games/ ... for that, just rename (using windows file explorer) the folder DCS or DCS.openbeta, into for example DCS.bak or DCS.openbeta.bak .. this will preserve its current contents, as we are not deleting it. Now start DCS, the sim will recreate the configuration folder at /Saved Games/ and start. If it now starts OK, then you will know that the problem was caused by something within your previous config folder. Thereafter, you can recover items from your prior location, like the Hotas settings, your Logbook, user missions, etc. For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
JagHond Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 It's always an useful hint, this one, Rudel... BTW, where the logbook is located, I'm wondering? Thanks in advance, with best regards.
Rudel_chw Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 , where the logbook is located, I'm wondering? Its at /saved games/dcs/MissionEditor .. within the file logbook.lua For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Rudel_chw Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Thank you -- where is the / Saved Games / folder located? Usually at C:\Users\<your user>\ .. tough it can be relocated wherever the user wants. C3PO Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 No joy either here re-naming the versions no longer in use... It's almost as if there has been a random keystroke command preventing the launcher from going fully full screen ... ? Maybe that is the reason but I don't know what that could be... Rudel_chw Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 Ah - got it working! renamed all the folders :) the date of modification is a good clue to see which folder is the one being used by your dcs For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
JagHond Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 Its at /saved games/dcs/MissionEditor .. within the file logbook.lua :poster_oops: I had to guess that. Thanks a lot, Rudel.
