A-10 HUD slantrange in meters?

Slantrange on the A-10 Hud is depicted in feet (pipper-arc), nautical miles (below the pipper) and in meters (lower left). Feet and nm seems obvious for US planes (and more than adequate) but why would I need slantrange in meters? :huh:

Maybe it's useful when you are FAC and communicate with ground units because they often use the metric.

I doubt it is for playability, but the FAC function makes sense though, I guess that's why it shows right under the target elevation above MSL in the HUD.

TekaTeka is absolutely correct. US/NATO pilots fly in knots and nautical miles. However on the ground, army units work in kms and metres.

So if the pilot is an AFAC, or being controlled by a FAC, it is useful to have a m indication.

... IRL the indication can be switched between NM and Km. Also it should look 'a bit' different.
