DutchCoolHand Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 I purchased the F5 last week and while flying it DCS crashed. When getting back into the cockpit my seat position was far to the left. I tried to use the seat position keys to move to the center but they did not respond. My other planes were fine (A-10, FA-18 and F14) Today I was flying the FA-18 campaign and when I loaded the 4th mission the same problem happened. I am positioned in front of the left DDI. And the seat position buttons do not work. And yes they are defined in the control section. And they work in the other planes. Now no matter which mission I load for the F5 or FA-18 my seat position is so far off that I am almost sitting outside. Anyone seen this before? I have a screenshot I will upload later. p1t1o Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Apologies if this is a silly question - but have you tried the "re-center view" button (keypad 5) that you would normally use in 2D to recenter the view? I had a similar issue in that I was having a problem getting the centre of my VR space to be reliably in the same position (I think I need to optimise my base station layout) but KP5 put me in the seat every time.
dburne Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 There is also re-center VR view in the controller setup menu so you can assign to a button, down at the bottom of aircraft listings in the UI Layer. I find that so much easier than trying to look and press keypad 5 with my headset on... DutchCoolHand Posted April 30, 2019 Author Posted April 30, 2019 (edited) Thank you for the suggestions but as mentioned, the Numpad reposition keys do not respond. RCtrl + R Shift + Numpad keys. And the VR recenter key which I have bound to my Hotas does not improve it. it actually makes me move further left in small increments and then stops moving. I use the Odsyssey+ so I have no sensors. I had one light bulb in my fluorescent light go out so I added an additional light but that made no difference. Secondly, it happened with the F5 first and then several days later with the Hornet while the A-10 and the F-14 are still fine. if I had to do with my VR headset it would be with all planes. Last week there were updates for DCS, Nvidia and SteamVR beta, one of them caused this. DeltaMike Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 (edited) Hmmm... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164892 Are you saying the ctl-shift-numpad is not working? Weird. USB conflict? DutchCoolHand Posted May 2, 2019 Author Posted May 2, 2019 Hmmm... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164892 Are you saying the ctl-shift-numpad is not working? Weird. USB conflict? Yes correct the crtl-shift numpad are not working. the strange thing is that it started with the F5, a few days later it happened to the F18, the A-10 and f14 were still fine on Sunday. I am travelling for work this week so I have not flown this week. It can't be anything systematic as it would happen to all planes right? p1t1o Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 The only other thing I can think of is - check your keyboard functionality. My keyboard is on the fritz and a few keys work intermittently. If your CTRL key is doing this it might cause what you are seeing? Long shot.
