kenpoh Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Hi, i just start to create my first ME mission learning from some you tube tutorials , i set up my hornet and 3 AI F-18c in my side and 2 AAA, 2 sam sa-10 group on the other side ,set out trigger zone ( i.e. in waypoint 4 ) ,setup AI Tast to attack unit inside zone, weather and everything i learn from the video and began to test fly, but when i fly inside trigger zone in waypoint 4 the AI wingman is not performing their task and ican't see any respond from my target.. no target lock in DDI , what am i missing ? best regards .... P/S; how can we place a static plane inside a airbase hanger ? i tried but they end up hanging on the roof..LOL
tsb47 Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Post the miz file so we can take a look. For the static planes, I'd suggest placing actual units in the parking spaces but turning off their AI. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit | i7-4790K@4GHz | 8GB RAM | GTX970 347.52

I mean in real life these systems are usually not stacked in the same area... I guess you try a SEAD task or something, but without the MIZ- file or at least some details it is impossible to see what's wrong... shagrat Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 (edited) problem fix .new problem coming lol... yes Shagrat, SA-10 too strong for me it destroy all Harm missile i launch... SO.. how am i suppose to destroy the SAM ? best weapon ?Against SA-10, the most bad ass SAM available in DCS? I recommend a fleet or B-52 bomber flight which launches more than 12 cruise missiles (Tomahawks) or a SEAD package with the same amount of HARMs. Or flying a helicopter (Ka-50) lower than the SA-10s minimum engagement height of about 10m AGL and take it out with vikhrs in the night. Alternatively a plane with high drag bombs and flying terrain masking, may work... For a first mission and training against SAM you can either "deactivate" the (realistic) feature of engaging missiles in the Mission Editor (advanced waypoint options "engage missiles"), or what I recommend, start with something less lethal. ;) ...maybe an SA-2, SA-3 or a SA-6? If you absolutely want some adrenaline rush, make a visual confirmation that it's a hostile SAM site and not some farm trucks. Basically, wait for a launch and see where the missile comes from. Than evade and attack in a second pass. To deactivate AI. Set a plane or flight of planes to "start from parking" and then check the "uncontrolled" checkbox. shagrat Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 thanks , just downgrade the sam site and working perfectly..improving each day learning a lot from the community.. by the way where can i get info on these SAM rating?Encyclopedia in Game. Wikipedia, or simply google names like SA-2, SA-19, Hawk, Roland etc. There are plenty military wikis or websites covering them. Do not rely too much on range and altitude info. The next newer ones are more deadly, even if the range is shorter. Always think of it as an estimated engagement range. Keep them in a position, where you can still maneuver and evade.
