Hellcat Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 LOL. mine was when I slammed by face into the lamp because it was a little closer than I thought. I mean, in VR, it *wasn't* there, dammit. :D I just dropped some bombs in A10C and was tracking the bombs and flares as i was egressing. Mine was in the early stages of flying VR. I have a sim rig with a car seat and after landing the F18 I opened the canopy looked around and then proceeded to try to lift myself out of the pit buy the canopy rail in game and promptly went to the floor on my elbows ....laughed like hell :D i7-9700K @ 5.0 l MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Plus MB l 32GB DDR4 2400 Ram l Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB M.2 l EVGA 3080 FTW l Win10 Pro l WarBRD/Warthog Hotas l VKB MkIV rudder Pedals l Reverb G2
Ryano4242 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 During a vacation to San Diego recently I got to sit in the cockpit of a F-14D in the USS Midway. :) (pushing kids out of the way and yelling "RESEARCH!!! OUT OF MY WAY!!!...j/k) Despite the fact the HUD for the pilot had been pulled the RIO pit showed it was certainly a D model. Climbing in I was struck by how different things looked on my flat screen using TrackHat! Gauges were not at my point of view, I had to really look down in my lap to see a lot of the switches and controls but the forward view was much better the front and side views were much better...and I knew where everything was! It was then I thought I have to try VR. Friday night I fired up the brand new Rift S... HOLY %$^&! The POV was exactly the same. Heatblur nailed it! Despite the lower graphics it was amazing. Flying around the Carrier pattern, the ability to look over the shoulder AND the 3D sensation of sinking or rising really fools your inner ear! I am glad I waited for a decent VR rig and all I can say is WHOA.
dawgie79 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 This thread is great to read, puts a smile to my face. We need more converts so we can keep on reading people's awe. :joystick: Makes you wanna fly too. Which is what I'm gonna do now. :D
