ZQuickSilverZ Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 I play on a large screen (50") and this causes issues with my TrackIR. When I lean forward or back it also registers it as up and down. Has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it. I rather not mount the camera behind me if possible as I sit at an L shaped desk with 2 screens and that would cause mobility issues not to mention cord routing issues. I need, I need, I need... VZ_342 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Is it possible it’s mistranslating fwd/back as up/down because the camera is located well above your eyeline? My 3 screens are 20”, and the camera is located roughly at the top of my head (my eyes are level with the center of the screens). If so, there should be settings which tells TiR where the camera is placed relative to the IR leds+your head.

ZQuickSilverZ Posted June 3, 2019 Author Posted June 3, 2019 Well to be honest I DO have TrackIR 4 but I am actually using OpenTrack with a PlayStation 3 cam and a hybrid infrared (UTC MK II) and gyroscopic (EDTracker) solution. The Yaw and Pitch and Roll work perfect (EDTracker) and sometimes the X, Y, Z (infrared) work well but not always. I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original. streakeagle Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Large screens require putting the sensor at an offset it wasn't designed to accommodate. But I have my large screen (49 inch TCL series 5 and previously an old Mitsubishi 46 inch LCD) set up where the center of the screen is level with my eyes. So the offset is a little higher than designed... but not unacceptable. Overall, I can easily get my view to go where I want. The main problem is balancing the gain in the profile to allow looking 180 degrees behind and 90+ degrees up and down without risking losing track and without being too fast/sensitive. This is one area where VR has a big win: 1:1 tracking with a 100% accurate feeling of scale and depth. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
