Fri13 Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 The todays 2.5.5 update mentions these: Kneeboard has been enabled Bomb release order fixed SITE bombsight enabled Dashed lines for CCIP and SITE bombsight HUD color fix CCIP update (WiP); CCIP is now limited. Cross won't go below the HUD bottom. What is the "SITE bombsight"? And what does "CCIP is now limited" mean? And finally we have the bombing cross staying inside the HUD for a CCRP (AUTO) bombing marking? i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
viper2097 Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 As far as I know, AUTO means, that the Harrier automaticaly switches between CCIP and CCRP. This means: If the bomb impact point is inside the HUD, you will be in CCIP mode, and if the pipper would go outside the HUD, you are automaticaly changeing to CCRP mode. As it was until yet, the pipper just went outside the HUD when the impact point was outside in CCIP mode. As I understand the changelog, the Piper will now just stop at the end of the HUD. But there is nothing else added / changed, so it will only opticaly stop when reaching the borders of the HUD. Seems like a first, very, small step into the direction of a correct AUTO mode... Don't know what SITE bombsight is, probably some kind of backup sight... Steam user - Youtube I am for quality over quantity in DCS modules

Don't know what SITE bombsight is, probably some kind of backup sight...AUTO is basically CCRP (AUTOmatic release). The "switch" (CCIP-to-AUTO Conversion) is a manually commanded transition to AUTO, while the CCIP cross is at the HUD Field of View limit. This limit is presented by a dashed Bomb Fall Line and CCIP cross and usually should show a reflected cue (fat horizontal line on the BFL indicating how far the CCIP is below the HUD). Need to do the update and check today. EDIT the AUTO mode is already pretty much ok. Just the ASL adjustment for cross wind correction is still missing. shagrat Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 SITE is a more manual mode for the roll stabilized sight when using non-computed (AUTO/CCIP) sight. So you can set depression and use a fixed symbology. viper2097 Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Oh, then I probably missunderstood there something. Thx for clarifying :). Steam user - Youtube I am for quality over quantity in DCS modules

Yes, that was the missing feature from the start that was found early in the release. But my understanding is that AUTO is like a CCRP, so instead calling it "Continually Computed Release Point", it is now AUTO, more like a Automatic Release. At least so the Wags calls it in the Hornet: So it shouldn't be like the Soviet HUD where you have that bomb reticle and you can assign target on ground when it is bottom of the hud or see impact point when you dive and you get a line. And Harrier is having this same feature. As I understand the changelog, the Piper will now just stop at the end of the HUD. But there is nothing else added / changed, so it will only opticaly stop when reaching the borders of the HUD. Seems like a first, very, small step into the direction of a correct AUTO mode... That is what I was little afraid if so. Need to test, but currently downloading the update. As I am waiting to big fixes, the DMT slave axis fix and then this CCIP/CCRP automatic switching. Don't know what SITE bombsight is, probably some kind of backup sight... Yes, it is the mystic one. But hopefully someone could enlighten us. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
