Kayos Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 (edited) Can't start DCS in non-VR mode. If I restart in non-vr I got the initial DCS screen and it just never goes away. If I start in VR, it starts no problem. Ive tried a repair and clean. No mods installed either. Any ideas? The last thing i see in dcs.log before I end the program is: DCS: Screen: MainMenu EDCORE: (dDispatcher)enterToState_:5 Edited June 9, 2019 by Kayos [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kayos Posted June 9, 2019 Author Posted June 9, 2019 DO YOU HAVE THE GLASSES CONNECTED? You mean my Rift? It's connected to the PC but Oculus home isn't on and I'm starting DCS with --force_disable_VR switch [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I found out you would use two different shortcut for dcs to works. You would have to modify tthe launch shortcut. 1.Copy you desktop dcs launch shortcut 2.Rename to dcs openbeta(1) or windows would do that. 3. Right click on the new shortcut and select properties 4. On target box, edit end of the launch strings of world \DCS_update. exe and put DCS.exe° - force_disable_VR When I want to launch in VR, I use the old shortcut and for desktop launch I use the shortcut with edited target string. I already have two shortcuts. One with --force_disable_VR and one with --force_enable_VR. I tried starting it from Skates utility too and the same issue happens. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Harlikwin Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 So this is what I do with the rift. 1. In VR options there is tic box marked "enable VR headset" make sure its not actually ticked. 2. Now you can start normal DCS by clicking the DCS desktop icon. 3. If you want to use VR, open the occulus runtime and click library and start it from there. Presumably this would work with steamVR and other runtimes. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. Kayos Posted June 9, 2019 Author Posted June 9, 2019 It's not a huge deal because I only fly in VR. It's just that I prefer using the Mission Editor in 2D. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kayos Posted June 10, 2019 Author Posted June 10, 2019 Ran a repair and clean again but no luck. Very odd. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
