fitness88 Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 With dual throttles, do you still need to map the lift buttons to operate the throttle lifts? I thought moving each throttle forward a bit would cause the lift to raise. Thank you.
feefifofum Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 There is an option to disable the requirement for using the lifts, but nothing inherent to using a dual throttle. You may be thinking of the idle/off detent, which is mappable with the TM Warthog (the PC periphal has working detents) but again is inherent to that specific piece of hardware, not all dual throttles in general. Jack McCoy Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 This is what I'm referring to, 0 & 9. You might be encountering the behavior where the initial transition from off to idle does not work until you move the throttles from idle to off while in the running simulation. i7-7700K@4.8GHz, 16Gb-3200, GTX-1080Ti-Strix-11Gb, Maximus IX Hero, Oculus Rift, Thrustmaster Warthog+F/A-18C, Logitech G940 Pedals.
fitness88 Posted June 10, 2019 Author Posted June 10, 2019 You might be encountering the behavior where the initial transition from off to idle does not work until you move the throttles from idle to off while in the running simulation. Are you saying that using dual throttles means you don't need to press 0 or 9, the throttle will do it for you? I thought 0 9 was for single throttle. I tried moving each throttle but nothing.
feefifofum Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 (edited) 1: Do you have a Warthog throttle? If yes, you must physically lift the throttles over the detent as you would in the real aircraft. Most people think they are breaking the throttle the first time they do it by accident. There is a special binding specifically for the TMWH you can assign to the two button presses associated with each throttle moving over the detent to off. As you lift the throttle back over the detent, the button press will release and the engine should transition to idle in-game as well. If no, then you do not have a physical idle/off detent and button you must stilluse the keyboard for idle/off or assign it to another button on your HOTAS. This is a completely different thing from the throttle finger lifts, which prevent you from entering afterburner unless held. In the case of those, a button must also be mapped or alternately the need to use them can be disabled in the options menu. Edited June 11, 2019 by feefifofum THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

BuzzU Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 What I showed lets it work exactly like it does in the A-10C. Isn't that what you're after? Buzz

feefifofum Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 (edited) Right. In order to use the throttles for that, there needs to be a button press associated with having the throttles back, all the way in the off position. There also needs to be some kind of physical barrier to prevent you from accidentally shutting the engines off when you bring the throttles all the way back. The TMWH has a physical stop that you must actually lift the throttles out of the base and over top of. They then come to a rest on a button. In DCS, this button is mapped to a special binding the sets the throttle to OFF when the button press is detected, and when the button is released (meaning you have physically lifted your throttle back over the detent) is sets the throttle to idle. This is also why you must move the throttles to off AFTER you're in the cockpit for that binding to work - DCS isn't "listening" for the key press to initiate the process until the simulation is unpaused. With any of the logitech X series, to the best of my knowledge there is no such physical stop and therefore you would be better served simply binding those two idle/off controls to a switch on the base.
