robohunterx Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 (edited) Hello. I was in Multiplayer (I have not tested this in SP yet) and I noticed I couldn't repair the F-14B. I tried two attempts, first was after a sortie and after trying to fully shut down, open the canopy (dcs ground crew is weird), engines off and parking break set, I would call for repair, get the "Roger" from the ground crew, but nothing would happen. Typically the countdown until repair starts with a message at the top right, however this didn't show. I also tried to respawn into a fresh jet, and tried to request the repair again, still nothing. Something seems borked. Edit: Just tried it in SP, same deal. Edited June 26, 2019 by robohunterx
HunterICX Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 I believe you need Ground power connected before they'd actually start repairing. Have you tried?
robohunterx Posted June 28, 2019 Author Posted June 28, 2019 Yes. Also I just decided to try this on other modules, and NONE of them are actually working. I've tried the Mi-8, the 18, the M2000 and none would repair so this seems like a DCS issue
BodyOrgan Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 A repair will not initiate unless you have sufficient damage. I don't know the threshold, but minor damage is sometimes not enough to cause it to initiate. If you want to be 100% sure, you can open the canopy before landing so that it's ripped off. This trick thus far has ensured I'm always able to repair. The Tomcat still has bugs in its repair as it doesn't always repair everything or set the plane back to its initial settings. For example, if you belly land and repair it will not lower the landing gear upon repair complete even though your landing gear lever is down, so it'll just get damaged all over again.

I could have sworn that you could still run the repair cycle reguardless of damage state. I'll be sure to try the above and see if it let's me or not. If that's the case, all I have to do I bet is blow the canopy on any jet to repair it lol. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
discwalker Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Since 2.5.5 ripped off canopy is not enough reason to initiate a repair in Hornet, FC3 planes and in Su-25T. Sufficient other damage is varies by plane. For example since many years F-15 with bursted tyres is fine to ground crew. Flankers with gear structure damage is also fine. If you burst a tyre in MiG-29 first time repaired, second time not; since PFM. GTX 1070 8GB, 16GB DDR3, W8.1 on SSD, DCS on another SSD
robohunterx Posted June 29, 2019 Author Posted June 29, 2019 Let me just wip out the 9MM side arm then and go to town... Yeah this is a bug, shouldn't need to drive into a pole and rip half your wing off, or rip a rotor off just so you can repair your ins or some busted tires. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

BodyOrgan Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 I can also report if you lose hydraulic pressure, but manage to land and repair it won't fix the lost hydraulics.
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Yesterday I was in an F-18 taking off from land while I forgot to set T/O trim. I was waiting for the jet to lift itself off the tarmac and crossed 200 kts before I noticed my mistake. As a result, my front tyres blew. After the flight, I landed and called the ground crew for a repair. They repaired the tyres just fine. I'll see if I can reproduce this in the F-14. robohunterx Posted June 30, 2019 Author Posted June 30, 2019 Yeah I really don't know anymore, it honestly could have just been the mission and a mixture of not being damaged that led me to believe that it was bored. I just repaired fine in the hog on the same server so, yeah, not really sure. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk DCS is a fine game, but it can have its odd quirks from time to time, which makes issues appear and not appear in a random manner on occasion. In any case thank you for reporting it. We hope that we fixed the right engine not spooling bug after taking damage and being repaired. However this is unrelated to repair not working at all. We will keep an eye out for what you have been reporting. Thank you. LTRMcrew Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 You need to turn engines off for repair to begin, then there's a delay with a countdown in top right "Wait 170 sec for repair"
