WytchCrypt Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Hi all, my new laptop just arrived and I'll be installing the release version of DCS 2.5.x and buying the Hornet in the next couple of days - great timing while the Hornet is still 25% off! I have a total noob question I can't seem to find an answer to. I fly offline and am wondering what I have to do so updates to the release version of the Hornet will get to my system? Is it simply a matter of logging in every once in a while instead of flying offline and that will trigger an update? Do Hornet updates come in the form of DCS 2.5.x updates or do they come separately only affecting the Hornet files? Finally, how can I verify I have the most recent Hornet update? Thanks! :pilotfly: Alienware Area-51M: i7-9700K, 165Hz 27" ASUS Swift PG279 IPS with G-SYNC, 32GB DDR4 Ram, 1TB M.2 PCie x4 SSD, 1TB SSHD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6, Windows 10, CH Eclipse... Roadrunner Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 (edited) When you start DCS the first time a day it looks for updates, if you are connected to the internet of course. You can always start that process manualy from your start menu entries: "DCS Update". DCS Updates all mods you own and the core client automaticly in that process. Version number: In DCS you find the Version number in the bottom right corner, you can crosscheck it with the one noted on the last post in this threat: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=214251&page=2 for the stable version. I recommend to crosscheck on this site: http://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ This is the actual version on the update server. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

It is otherwise more tolerable on simpler fighters I would know as I have experienced dcs on both laptop and desktop. I installed dcs on a laptop and utilize occasionally on vacations and I simply couldnt go to flying on a 17.3 inch 1080plaptop monitor coming from a 27 inch 1440p desktop monitor. Without utilizing zoom I was like And i have otherwise perfect sight save for my left eye which is marginally worse (19/20) Its annoying to use zoom constantly, which is minimal on my desktop monitor.
