Maximum 4 clients, I have this machine that as been collecting dust for quite a while and was wondering if I could use it as a server for DCS

AMD A10-6700 Quad-core 3.7 GHZ

1 Tb hard drive

CD-Rom/RW

Asus wireless Ethernet

8 Gig of ram

Would it be powerful enough?

Thanks, Marc..

8 GB of RAM isn't sufficient for a client much less a server.

ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1

I ask because of that quote on a topic related to that

I know it might be usefull for those whose want to use that unused computer as host:

I run DCS ful up-to-date (05/2017) on A standard Win7 X64, 4G Ram, 512Mb Graphic card, DirectX 9, Celeron 2 Duo, with 16 players slots with no problems! I restart server each 12 hours to assure it's funcioning because DCS likes to fill up memory with trashes.

Doing theses steps u'll not need DX11 to host!

Download and run this from my drive, safe and virus free, but you might check!

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AGp0qp4RitCgg4xU

1 - click in the "Edit List" button and add "DCS.exe", not the updater, please.

2 - On "Mute Category" group, check "Application Defined" only

3 - On "Device Settings" group:

3A - Check "Force Warp"

3B - Change Feature Level Limit to 11.

Apply > Ok and now you can Host ya DCS in a 386 computer! Hhahaa

Just to add, i'm using the "Autoexec.cfg" too, so old computer will not have problems!

It will takes time to open DCS, will takes time to load mission, but soon as mission is loaded will work robust as those "gringo" servers!

Check my server working: - rvotri something -

You guys might get an High IP, since i host in Brazil, but for people here the highest ping is 90.

Thanks, Marc..

I run the Dedicated Server that DCS released a few months ago, on this machine:

so, yours should work fine ... but connect it to your home network using ethernet .. do not use WiFi as its real bandwidth and latency isnt good enough.

For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra

For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar

Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
