Lock targets with TWS

I can see many targets on the radar in the front seat, i order rio to lock stt, but he generally says "unable" , why can't rio lock to targets which were already indentified?

I too have sometimes experienced what you have descirbed hence why even i myself have to hop back seat at times and manually lock targets that jester should be doing for me anyways.

The by far most often reason for calling Jester a jerk is, when the pilot can't seperate between a radar contact ir a datalink contact. Or if the P/PD STT options in the special tabs are not known. Or the "he does not lock" problem is related to P/PD.

What you see on the front seat is not the radar screen. The radar screen (DDD - Detail Data Display) is only available in the back. What you see is the TID (Tactical Information Display), which not just shows radar contacts, but also data link contacts, which can't be locked obviously. Make sure what you are seeing are actual own sensor radar contacts and not data link contacts.
