jwflowersii Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Is anyone else frustrated that the track replays never seem to work? I would love to be able to record movies and post them on YouTube for the world to see. Why doesn't ED respond to this issue? It seems the track of other aircraft doesn't have issues in multiplayer or single player, but the player aircraft never works properly. I don't see how TacView is able to replay all events just fine, but we can't get a working replay in game. Please fix ED.

Nealius Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 The replay system is an enigma. There's a theory that the system simply records player inputs so the sim recalculates everything. Even if the sim does recalculate everything, the end result should be the same given the same player inputs at the same timing in the same environment. I have had replay tracks where the gear utterly fails to raise, implying that the replay system failed to record my key press of the G key. Then the next two times I replay the exact same track, the gear raises perfectly fine. Then the fourth time I replay the same track, it breaks at taxi. Just last night I replayed three F-5 tracks, and they all replayed perfectly IF I set my shadows settings to medium and IF I did not switch to an external view during startup. Today I tried replaying the same tracks again, with no changes other than a system reboot, and all of them failed as soon as I started taxiing. There is zero consistency in how it fails, or in what causes it to fail.
TonyG Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 But they’re crucial for bug reports  9800X3D, MSI 5080 , G.SKILL 64GB DDR5-6000, Win 11, MSI X870, 2/4TB nVME, Quest 3, OpenHornet Pit
Nealius Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 The cynic in me thinks that .trk file aren't crucial for the bug reports so much as getting us the reproduce the issue. By posting .trk files we are basically affirming that we have (supposedly) been able to reproduce the issue.
