As above. Having a clear out of stuff from previous upgrades.

So FOC to someone who wants them. Seems a pity to throw them out as junk when someone else could make use of them and I want no truck with "ebayer" shysters who say that the stuff did not work in an effort to get them free and have me pay the shipping for the privilege.

Much rather gift them to someone deserving. All I ask is that you want the stuff to use yourself, not to resell. I am fully aware that the sidewinder 2 sticks in full working order are fetching a lot of money on eBay, but I'd rather help a fellow simmer upgrade his kit.

All were in full working order when decommissioned.

So.

Corsair CX750 PSU - non modular so all sata cables and the like attached.

Hyper X Fury DDR3 1866 RAM modules. 2x 4Gb sticks in original packaging.

Corsair H80i AIO water cooler with Intel motherboard fittings.

Saitek Pro Flight rudder pedals.

Microsoft Sidewinder 2 Force Feedback joystick. Sorry no power supply, probably been tossed out in a previous clear out because it has an odd connector (believe it is a C8 ). Hunted for it without success.

EDIT: looked at tech specs underneath the stick. It does not need a power supply, it is a std C7 power cable at one end and a 13A mains plug at the other. I will throw in a brand new one as I have several kicking around.

EDIT #2. Stick has been tested with the cable and works fine.

I'm between Selby and Goole in North Yorkshire UK.

Strictly collection only. PM me if interested.

If the pedals don't go, I'll take them, I've been trying to save for a set for ages. Collection isn't an issue.

The pedals are yours. Tomorrow afternoon, maybe 1pm would be a good time for me. Let me know if that is good for for you via PM so we can make arrangements that are mutually acceptable. :)

I'm just a few miles from the M18 / M62 junction and 5mins away from M62 J34 for Selby.

@Tinkickef I find this thread, and yourself, to be totally awesome. I have given away several thousand dollars in hardware over the years. Some of it brand new. I truly appreciate the fact that you would rather give it away than try to make a profit from it.

Good on you. IIRC, you were the recipient of the furthest I have ever shipped something. It was a cheap item but it was still the first time I shipped anything that far.

EDIT: The folks at UPS think I am insane, I suspect.

A real man

Nah. Just a guy who has been both poor and homeless and managed to recover from both. There was a time, many years ago, when I had $50, a laptop, some clothes and no place to live. I now own my own house (well my dogs think it is their house but let me live there since I bring home food and treats) and have a lot more than $50 and a perspective that causes me to be more than willing to give to those who have less than I do.

Investing money is beneficial financially. Investing in the benefit of others is beneficial in ways that cannot be measured.

Exactly. IMO, Helping others offers a satisfaction far greater than the sum of its parts. Spend £10 on yourself and the satisfaction derived is worth a tenner.

Gift a tenner to someone else who needs an helping hand and the satisfaction derived is far more valuable.

Besides, I'm a great believer in karma. One day I may just need an helping hand myself.

With me it wasn't PC parts it was always motorcycling gear. I used to be a professional on and off road motorcycle instructor and had access to very heavily discounted (at cost to wholesaler), absolutely top of the line riding equipment and made much use of it.

I have kitted out a fair few, impoverished new riders showing up at the club with a few months old gear from my "cast off" pile. Gloves, jackets, boots, waterproofs, undersuits, track shirts; you name it. Even a few carefully selected helmets.

It does sometimes bite you on the Ass though.. When I got my 2080TI, I put my 980TI Strix back in its box as a spare. A couple of months later I heard that that one of my missus's friends, sons who was going through veterinary college and up to his eyes in student loans had a GPU fail on him. Since he could not afford to go out to bars and socialise, his gaming PC was his lifeline to the outside world. So we sent my 980TI to his parents for onwards delivery.

A month after that, my 2080TI blew, and again three months after that. I have been without a PC as much as I have used it since I bought that RTX card. It's coming up to release the magic smoke time again.......

Still, I have no regrets, what's done is done.

It was nice to meet Terahurts this afternoon, seems like really nice guy and he's the first DCS enthusiast I have met in the flesh. I was itching to show him around my rig and have a go in the Reverb, but it was one of those situations where you don't know if he was pressed for time and offering might have made him feel obligated. So I kept my trap shut.

I might just have to take you up on that offer one of these days. Round trip to Athens is less than a $1000. I will certainly have to learn to speak some Greek first, out of respect. Your offer is way too kind though considering that I all I gave you was a USB header and it cost around $25 to ship it.

The same offer is available here if you ever end up traveling to my area. I am about 25 miles from Washington D.C. which really is an amazing place to visit.

EDIT: I should add that you will need to be able to tolerate overly affectionate dogs.

I assume that was aimed at Skouras since I certainly did nothing that would qualify. I rarely discuss anything about those that I have given stuff to. However, I am quite pleased with myself for recently providing a set of pedals (used), a motherboard, CPU, memory and a nice after market cooler (all new in the box) to a young Marine aviation student.

To give is the best one can do.

Tho my money is tight with all thos ekids, house and all that daily stuff I rather give all those Dell PC's I usually get back to people I know, family, neighbors, refugees. I could sell each one for good money, but I never did.

I thought about keeping all those 850Pro's..but then said to myself...you have little, but enough to not need them, so do it right and let them have a Dell with new RAM and new SSD, so they enjoy.

I am about to pimp my neighbor with my old Asus WS, along with adequate RAM and whatever I have to replace his aging Abit mobo and 2 core CPU. He does our local press and wedding cards etc.. time for him to step up.

It may one day come back, to me, my kids or someone in need. That's all I hope for.

Make this place a better place with what you have and whenever you can.

I tought my oldest son to help, talked to him for many hours over the years.

One thing I told him, a Maxime of Life, is this:

Why do YOU help this elderly woman over the street, WHY ?

He had no answer at the age of 10.

I said:Because YOU are likely the ONLY ONE near by that can do it, if YOU dont do it, nobody will and she will fall or even worse. Then just do it and know you made thisplace a better place.

He is now turning 18 and he learned the lesson, I can say this with honest confidence.

Invest in educating your kids, pick up broken glass in a playground, talk to the young guys doing that bad stuff, dont give up, its a constant challenge.

I will all come back, the good and the bad.

Lars
