DayGlow Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 I'm looking for a way to just turn down the engine in the cockpit, it seems that the volume sliders keep changing what they do. Before I was able to have my engine just barely audible while other cockpit sounds were at a normal level, much like it would be in RL Now it seems all cockpit sound levels are tied together. I use simshaker to model the rumbling feeling of the engine, so I don't want the artificial sound level as well. KTFBGB Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Have you tried clicking the box that says “hear like in helmet”? If I remember correctly it dampens the engine noise level as if you were wearing a helmet but all the radio and warning tones etc are not affected.
DayGlow Posted August 1, 2019 Author Posted August 1, 2019 Yup, from exploring this I’ve found a bug where sound volume increases no matter the slider setting https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=246537 "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11

mosqui Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 TNew sound of the switches set to 300 is practically not heard with the engines started and the cockpit closed (e.g A 10 C ). They only sound good when there is no engine started. I think they don't work. Someone can give some idea of what is happening. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Please, try to check the sound of the switches when there is no engine started with 300% and with 0%. Is there any difference? So we will find out if this volume slider works in your version of the DCS. If it works, please listen to the switches 100% with the engine turned off. Are they audible enough? ED Team btd Posted November 19, 2019 ED Team Posted November 19, 2019 I see. The feature works. However, the volume of pressing the button is so low that even if you increase it by 3 times, it will not be heard when the engine is running. I increased the volume of the default button by almost 2 times. If you increase it more, it will no longer be like reality. If you want, you can increase the volume of the button for yourself. You need to edit the text file - ...\LockOnExe\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\Cockpits\ClickButtonOn.sdef And change the last line: gain = 0.19 to your value. For example: gain = 1.0 Best regards, Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou (btd) https://soundcloud.com/btd
