[REPORTED]Carrier invisible on TGP TV/Too bright on FLIR

Hi

 

 

So was running some carrier strike on the famous Krasnodar Ground attack mission, found the carriers smoke on the FLIR, turns out when looking at it the FLIR goes crazy as if looking at a very bright light

 

 

Also, on TV mode the carrier is invisible most times (it blinked in picture a few times for not long), I all could see is the smoke and the water trail behind it and waves in front,

 

 

 

Also I could not point track it

PS: THERE IS NOT ANY KIND OF FOG OR COULDS to mess with the non-flir image, it blinked a couple times in view, it's just bugged invisible most times

Also settings are almost maxed out

Hi everyone,

from what I see in your second picture, it has nothing to do with object distance view… it's clearly the IR image rendering that is broken (since months, and in "stable" version too, and we have no feedback from ED). There's still 2 or 3 post with this subject (in A10C forum, Harrier forum, F14B forum)

once again please ED do something or at least say us if it is tracked, or if there's a way to fix it.

Hi, about the originale post, in my group we are running the same mission, since a year or so, there's a rendering problem with ships spawning mid-mission. In a MP environment, if a ship group spawns while you are connected to the server, the ships stop rendering after the first hit, ordinance goes through them without detonation, you just see view effects created by the ships (engine smoke and water displacement) both in TGP (ccd or flir view) and F9 view. They seems to appear if you look at them from a certain angle but they are not solid objects for you. This is a client side problem, or a client-server syncro problem, as soon as you disconnect and reconnect to the server the problem disappears (for you).. It's worth mentioning that the problem is related to MOVING ships. On another MP mission that our editors created we resolved by having only static ships.

 

PS. We did not test this issue lately and I think it's been reported and aknowledge.

 

PPS. About the smoke in flir view it happens to me too, but not to other players I'm playing with, and in wags video you can clearly see it's not happening, so it is most probably a personal video settings/ drivers/ mod issue tampering with in-game IR picture rendering

Seems to be exactly that. What's weird is that FLIR will work fine one day and break the other, without any reason I can think of. I've tried every solution I found (fxo+metashaders2 in Saved Games, fxo+metashaders in Bazar + terrain metacaches + Repair and cleanup) and none of them worked and it's been months.

Hi all

 

Object view distances are being tweaked currently internally

 

 

Problem would still happen if I fly very close to it, and would blink into image rarelly from far away, also sometimes some ships of the battleghoup would be invisible even in the F9 view
