Having used this setup for a couple of days I’ve decided I don’t like the Virpil desk mount. This is the short version 2 which is angled away from the desk. First, it sticks out too far due to it being angled. Second, it flexes too much for my liking. As I’m moving the stick towards full deflection left or right the base and mount moves or flexes. I’m guessing this is because of the distance the mount sticks out from the desk and the fact the resistance gets stronger as It reaches full deflection. I ended up buying the bracket (at a ridiculous cost) from Monstertech to mount the base to my Monstertech desk mount. I’m sure this will solve both issues for me. I’ll most likely put the Virpil mount up for sale to recoup some of the cost of the bracket.

 

Strange - I am super happy with my V2 short mounts for my Warbrd and T50 (V2) throttle. They don't flex at all for me. Maybe it is dependent on the desk type you mount it on?

 

And the fact that it is located a bit back feels really good for me as well, I don't use my keyboard at all playing in VR with a Logitech G13 mounted on top of my left V2 mount for everything that needs a keyboard:

Would you mind telling me how far in inches your WarBRD is sticking out from your desk. I was waiting to place an order for a short desk mount and I want to be able to use the stick in both a side and between the legs position. If you try to use this setup between the legs, how far does it push you away from the desk? My Pendular pedals are not mounted and are pushed up against the back of my desk. If I'm forced to sit too far back from the desk I will have to find a new solution for the pedals. As heavy as they are they will still move on carpet when you use the brakes.

T50 Throttle: 43 cm from edge of desk to back of throttle

WarBRD + CM2: 31 cm from edge of desk to back of WarBRD base

 

On my way to a drink party so you will have to do the cm to inch yourself ;) And by the way, I have the VKB T-Rudder MK4 that I love, and work well not moving as you are pressing semi-down. For me as an old IRL pilot that feels just right!

In comparison to the Virpil desk mount, would anyone be able to give me the same measurement of how far the back of the base is from the desk with a Monstertech mount?
