Hello Guys,

I always wanted to use the same 2 and 3 position switches on the Hornat as I can on the A-10C. I have found a software called JoyToKey and I think I have made all the settings what I need for the Baro or RDR Altimeter switch but when I go to the settings in DCS and I flip the switch it doesn't recognize that I have fliped it.

I associated the profile with DCS so I think it shoud work but probably I did something wrong. Application path name is this: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe

Any idea why DCS doesn't seem to be connected to JoyToKey? Or any other idea how can I use the 2 or 3 position switches on the Hornet or any other module?

Thanks!

The easiest way to do it is via RS Mapper (found in download area here). But any joystick mapping app that can recognize release state of switches should work. I haven't tried JoyToKey but RS Mapper works for me, Joystick gremlin also works (but needs macro function which is a bit more complex), Target also works if your device is Thrustmaster.

Thanks! I have just tried RS mapper. It looks better than JoyToKey but I think I have the same problem with this too. When I make a profile and I start a new Word file then I see the letters typed when I flick the buttons on the throttle. When I go to DCS....nothing. I can use the keyboard but DCS doesn't see the commends from the throttle.

I have asked the same question also in the RSMapper forum.

Thanks.

It might be admin right privilege, try to run both the game and the soft as admin.

I have tried just now. Unfortunately it didn't help.

I too have no problem for use JoyToKey, RSMapper, SVMapper - all have "mapped key on press" and "mapped key on release" necessary for ON-OFF switch send command when change status for ON and for OFF.

As posted above, is need start the keymapper "As administrator" or game ignore their keypress, due Windows UAC.

Here's my example for RS Mapper.

One thing to keep in mind, you have to also delete the bindings for that particular switch in DCS settings otherwise it will interfere with the app and won't work properly. This type of apps doesn't care what program/game you are using, it will just execute commands system wide. You can use the app to augment DCS bindings but be careful and avoid duplicate bindings in both programs.

Tips for binding multiple light switches as macro command to one switch, avoid using different function key combos. For example, for internal lighting such as console, instrument, flood lights try to be consistent with key commands. In other words, I use ALT-C, ALT-I, ALT-F for those lights and for release use something like ALT-SHIFT-C, ALT-SHIFT-I, ALT-SHIFT-F and so on. If you use different function keys in the same macro it might not work properly.
