RackMonkey Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I would like to see the radio freq's saved in the \saved gamed\ folder. Most of us fly the same servers most of the time so the radio freq's are the same every time we fly. It would be nice to not have to program in the frequencies every time you start up or re-spawn. I'll be corrected if i'm wrong but I have the feeling that in the real jets that, once set, the radio freq's are stored in non volatile memory in the jet. The first few "buttons" would be set to every time use like gnd control, tower, departure control, approach, while other are set on a per flight basis. That's why when you listen to actual radio chatter you'll hear "Flight, go button 2". Short with no ambiguity. Also if the enemy is listing in they have no idea what freq you will be jumping to next so they can't follow you. Gigabyte X670, 7800 X3D, 2X1TB NvME, RTX4090, 32GB DDR5 , Pimax Crystal
Kang Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 As far as I know the radio frequency presets are currently part of the mission files, which generally isn't a bad idea considering how a mission creator can thus set all the frequencies you are likely to need (saving the ATC frequency of Senaki-Kolkhi doesn't help when flying out of Khasab). I get your point, though, it feels a little annoying to have to set something like that up every time, but I'm not sure how to decide whether or not a manually saved set of presets should override the mission or not.
wrl11 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 The mission creator makes the freqs for each client plane, so it will be the same each time you respawn. Just ask whoever runs the server to change the freqs for the planes to what he is using in the mission so you don't have to change it. .
SharpeXB Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 It only takes seconds to set them yourself so what’s the big deal? A bigger problem in MP is that they sometimes don’t work at all. Most of the time there is no real use for the radio online anyways unless there’s an AWACS. ATC doesn’t work many times. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
