bbrz Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) How high is the bank angle when the att hold mode can't maintain the pitch attitude? Up to 30deg it's no problem. Btw. since the F-16 always usually maintains the bank angle even without AP, I don't think that the basic roll att hold function is being used in normal ops. As mentioned before, pitch & roll att hold is usually the basic AP function with no other modes engaged. Since the F-16 doesn't have a dedicated AP on/off switch, engaging the AP (pitch att hold) automatically engages roll att hold. Edited October 13, 2019 by bbrz i7-7700K 4.2GHz, 16GB, GTX 1070
danny875 Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 Even 10 degrees will result in a slide to the dirt... It behaves exactly like I didn’t even engage the pitch function at all, it’s not like I’m banking at 60 degrees of anything. I don’t know how my install got like this? I updated to the latest version on Friday and it still does this...
imacken Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Can you post a track? Something weird going on. imacken Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Thanks for that. It's too short and zoomed in to tell exactly what's going on. Could you repeat it more zoomed out so we can see the main instruments and the hud, and make it last longer to see what is happening to the gun cross? Thanks. danny875 Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) I fly in VR so not sure what you mean by zoom out? I can sit further back but I have no control of the zoom unless your install is zooming in for you for some reason. How short is it? When I made it and checked it afterwards I flew for about 2-3 minutes until the plane hit the ground. I don’t have much experience with tracks but doesn’t the viewer use their own settings or are my views imposed on the viewer? Cheers Edit: I’ll make another with my non VR executable and try and show the instruments. Edited October 13, 2019 by danny875 Non VR settings

imacken Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Yep, I can see your problem! I honestly can't explain that. Look at my track both in level flight and banked turn. It's OK. danny875 Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 Great! I’m not going mad... I’ll take a look at your track later as I’m not at my PC right now. So is this still a bug? It is clearly for me but I don’t know if ED can do anything about it if most/ all others are ok?
imacken Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Not sure if it’s a bug. Maybe someone else here can suggest something, but at the moment it beats me! danny875 Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 OK fixed it. I didn't think to check the obvious.. My joystick is not centering correctly in the pitch axis so I have now put a dead zone of 7 in which is the minimum I can use so that the Pitch Hold works. After all that... imacken Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Well spotted! Do you not notice that when you’re in normal, non A/P flight? In other modules? Seems like a big dead zone. Have you tried calibrating with the TM software?
