max22 Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Viper can't go beyond 900 knots (1.35 mach), while in reality it can fly much faster.
razo+r Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 I was able to hit M2.01. So, what was your loadout, your altitude etc. Give us a bit more informations.
Bouli306 Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Viper can't go beyond 900 knots (1.35 mach), while in reality it can fly much faster. My calculations say that you were flying at approximately 2000ft. No way in hell you are going any faster in that thick air. Max airspeed for the Viper is 800kts or 2.05 mach whicever comes first.
gitbse Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 The airspeed indicator maxes at 900ktsC This is true to the real jet. Doesnt mean it's not going any faster.

Fjordmonkey Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Only thing is that you will overstress the yet and probably damage canopy and flcs Is it possible to cause an FTIT overtemp due to speed on the Viper? Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
Bouli306 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Is it possible to cause an FTIT overtemp due to speed on the Viper? Well i am a PW guy but when the DEC (engine computer) is working properly and the engine has no damage it should never go into FTIT overtemps.
Fjordmonkey Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Gotcha, thanks for the reply :) Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
