Performance on my one screen setup (1920x1200) is more then good, smooth overall.

Now i see a lot of video's with people running more then one screen and i always think... how in the world do they make it run at a decent framerate?

I don't have any experience in a multi-screen setup so this what is going through my mind:

Example:

Lets say a one screen setup with a screen 1920x1200 like mine and then i add 2 more of the same res. If i set them side by side, i get a total of 5760 x 1200 pixels to fill.

This means that my GPU (1080ti) has to work 3 times as hard to get the same framerate as on my one screen setup (that's what i think, i never played around with more then one screen).

So now with the Rift S, which has 1440x1280 per eye it means that the my GPU at least has to work for 2880x1280. With a bit of decent settings i get 40 FPS out of it (and 80 if there is not that much to render).

But then there is still my main screen which has an image of what is going on in VR + a bit of other stuff on it which also needs GPU power. Power that could be used for 3D since you can't watch at it anyway with a VR headset on your face.

Now, is there a way to turn off my main screen while in VR and gain that extra GPU power (i recon that if i just turn it off but let it plugged in, the GPU will still be feeding it)?

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

The GPU is not processing new images for what is seen on monitor/monitors, just a mirror of what is being seen in headset.

Some have said they can get a little performance boost by lowering the resolution on the monitor via in game resolution , I personally have not seen this myself on my setup. I run two monitors and makes no difference for me whether I have one disabled or not.

I get a boost in frame rate by using Left ALT + Enter to force the oculus mirror to be fullscreen on my main monitor.
