How to find the allocated parking position at mission end?

My wingmen always know where they are supposed to park. I don't.

How can I get this information?

In my desperation, I noted where my wingman used to park and took the position. The attached track shows the gate of the shelter opening as my wingman approaches, and I roll in. My wingman doesn't like this and he crashes into the next shelter. In the mission his plane explodes and he ejects. In the track, he just drives through the walls of the shelter. Anyway, stealing the position of my wingman is obviously not a good solution :).

So again, how can I find out where I'm supposed to park?

It comes down more to mission design, the Ai / ATC / Ground ATC needs work. This is coming after the carrier ATC is sorted and I'm guessing to also decide on the direction to go as to how to organize and code it all. That would be fun....

For now it relies on the mission builder and to help you know and find a spot. There was a mission a round a while back that had you stop behind the tower in a certain spot between static aircraft. Can't remember the campaign / mission it was in?

It's a little hard making sure the AI is not in the way when you are there etc. I've been playing around with a mission and using MOOSE and the auto cleanup to help with this. A mission builder needs to make sure the pad is clear.

For now most missions don't really care, as long as you finish the mission and land. I guess you could have triggers on the exit ramp(s) saying. Use taxi way Blah, Blah and park at..... Then you will need the taxi charts etc, or real good direction off the mission builder.

I agree this is not super-important, but it would be nice at the end of a successful mission if I could taxi to the right shelter, see its gate open and roll in like the AI does. But I would certainly not spend hours in ME to get there.

Thanks for your response!

Missions designers should mark the parking slots with the crew, vehicles and such material that you notice it when you are approaching the area. The trigger and info there is very nice addition as well so you know how far you need to go.

This is what I wait from the ED in coming big updates that ground crew becomes alive on actual parking slots, and move around it etc.

Can I create a trigger that opens the gate of a bunker (shelter) when I approach it?

As far as the parking inside a shelter concerns. You don't taxi your jet into an open shelter as you would be in there the wrong way around. Irl you are towed in backwards.

So in that respect the doors don't need to be open. Though, unless you have a very lazy crew chief :P, the doors will be open long before you arive
