FlyBoyd Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Gents, Ok I have dialed in more on this VR issue and the mystery gets deeper. The following pictures are all of my settings. My friend is running the exact same settings with the exception of a few things under the NVIDIA settings that are different. Also he is running his PD in game @ 1.8 not like my 1.2. His system: i5-5930K OC to 4.3Ghz Gigabyte X99 Gaming MB 64GB DDR4 Ram nVidia 1080 Windows 10 My system: i7-7920X OC to 4.4Ghz EVGA X299 Dark MB 64GB DDR4 Ram EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 (I also tried my EVGA 2080Ti FTW) I initially had the 2080 in and thought maybe that was the problem, but we are seeing the same things with the 1080. Windows 10 We have run the same mission, him hosting or me hosting and the results are the same. He is regularly getting 45FPS on the ramp while I am only getting 16FPS. Can anyone explain why? I literally have tried everything in the last three days and tweaked every setting. I just don't know what the issue could be??? fredclan Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) you show the steam video tab selections, what about the steam application tab settings, while dcs is running. Also, have you edited the text file that allows reprojection to run? If you have no idea what i am talking about, then probably not. Go here https://vr4dcs.com/ and study up. Maybe a hint: your CPU is a skylake architecture enabled for Turbo boost Max 3.0 like my i9 7900x. Make sure that Turboboost's Intel app is set to DISABLE: this app (preinstalled) should move a running application accross the cores for maximing turbo speed without stress and increase the temperature in CPU package, but DCS is not able to handle the core jump, and this was the reason why I was having heavy FPS loss and stuttering during gameplay. When you say "what about the steam application tab settings while DCS is running" what exactly are you referring to? Under the application tab there isn't much. Would that change with DCS running? I can't seem to find this installed on my system. Would this be under programs? I do agree that it seems this could be a CPU issue, but I don't know how. I've attached a picture of the CPU settings and the OC im doing. Let me know where I can find that Turboboost. Thanks! No, it's running minimized in taskbar (small icon) since startup.
