Tango777 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 I cannot get the Magic's "line select button" to illuminate under MAG. If I click the button with the mouse, nothing happens. The assigned keyboard binding does not activate the button either. But the 530 or gun select keys light up and activate those weapons with either mouse click or keyboard binding immediately. With the updated cockpit, How do you select the Magic? What do you have to do in order to see the gun's aiming cues on the hud? I can activate the gun and fire it, but the cross does not even pop up on the hud when the gun is selected like it used to before the cockpit was updated. i7-13700F - 32GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti 16GB - 2TB NVMe SSD - Windows 11

You have to use HOTAS command to seleact AA gun (CAN) or Magic 2 (MAG). You can't select it on PCA. You will only select Magic 2 on PCA for selective jettison (inert firing). For AG gun (CAS) you select on PCA and go into attack mode with WEAPON System CMD Fwd like any other AG weapon. Just there is a bug that brings in AA close combat mode. Just exit and repeat. Tango777 Posted November 22, 2019 Author Posted November 22, 2019 I have tried HOTAS commands for selecting the MAG but it has not worked in selecting the MAG. What command do I need look for in the Adjust Controls menu to assign the MAG in order to select it to a HOTAS button? When will the in DCS tutorial for 530 and MAGs be updated? i7-13700F - 32GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti 16GB - 2TB NVMe SSD - Windows 11
Frederf Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 As far as I know the only way to select A/A cannon and Magic is with the three position switch on the throttle. Look for "CNM" in the HOTAS category. There is also a 3-position special set of two under a slightly different name that's handy to use for example binding Warthog boat switch.
Tango777 Posted November 22, 2019 Author Posted November 22, 2019 I can select the a/a cannon and MAG now from the joystick, but after I select or fire a MAG I cannot select the 530 by any means: mouse, keyboard, etc. The a/a cannon symbology remains on the hud and will not go away, and the a/a cannon select button is not illuminated. i7-13700F - 32GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti 16GB - 2TB NVMe SSD - Windows 11
Frederf Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 There is no AA cannon select button. The "K" button is for air to ground. The CNM switch has three positions: C cannon N neutral M magic. To use Super 530 or any AG bombs or rockets the switch must be set back to the central neutral position.
Tango777 Posted November 24, 2019 Author Posted November 24, 2019 So the only way for this to work [switching from MAG to 530] in the M2000 is to have a joystick with a 3 position switch? i7-13700F - 32GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti 16GB - 2TB NVMe SSD - Windows 11
Frederf Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 If you are using a Warthog or something which acts similar then there is a special command to use instead. Look for it in the category for special abstractions. It's the same switch but it will say something like "Cannon if pressed, otherwise PCA select" and "Magic if pressed, otherwise PCA select." Use those instead of "CNM" if you have an ON-OFF-ON type joystick switch.
Ramsay Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 So the only way for this to work [switching from MAG to 530] in the M2000 is to have a joystick with a 3 position switch? No, I have the keybinds • "C" = Cannon • "N" = Neutral = PCA pre-selected for 530 • "M" = Magic So three buttons on the joystick and the foresight to set the PCA to 530 at the same time as I arm the Gun and Master Arm. The control are listed under HOTAS • CNM AA Gun • CNM neutral (PCA SELECT) • CNM MAGIC with the 530 selected on the PCA, the 530 is always 1 button press away. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Frederf Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 There are two methods of accessing the three positions of the cockpit switch. It will only be necessary to use one method and which is strongly suggested by your input device. CNM AA Gun CNM neutral (PCA SELECT) CNM MAGICor AA Gun Select, else PCA SELECT MAGIC SELECT, else PCA SELECTFor keyboard or most joystick buttons one would bind three distinct inputs for the set of three switch positions. When the input for a position is pressed that position is selected, and when that input is released the selection remains. In order to select a different position of the switch a different input must be made. The Warthog Throttle has a three position button which activates JOY_BTN9 in the forward position, nothing in the middle, and JOY_BTN10 in the aft position. To support this controller and ones like it, the second set of binds is available. The middle position of the switch is selected whenever either of the two other inputs are released.
ericbakker Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 MAG, 530 and GUN to Warthog Throttle button The Warthog Throttle has a three position button which activates JOY_BTN9 in the forward position, nothing in the middle, and JOY_BTN10 in the aft position. To support this controller and ones like it, the second set of binds is available. The middle position of the switch is selected whenever either of the two other inputs are released. And the middle position will remember the 530 I see. This is brilliant, thanks a lot!
Tango777 Posted November 28, 2019 Author Posted November 28, 2019 Thank you, Ramsay! You helped solve my problem by explaining the keyboard bindings. i7-13700F - 32GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti 16GB - 2TB NVMe SSD - Windows 11
