JonVFX Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Hi, I am new to sim's and I have just got the Viper. I have re- installed it and checked dcs for an update. I can not change to TWS, and the data link does not work. Plus the game crashes when I fly the Viper now. How do I get the update? Thanks, JonVFX
Sarge55 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Are you in Stable version? You have to be in Open Beta to get today's update. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
Harker Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Welcome to the forums! The update today was for the Open Beta version of the game. The version number is 2.5.5.40269. First of all, check your version number in the lower right part of the main menu screen. You said you checked for an update, so if it doesn't match and the DCS Updater says you're up to date, you are likely running the Stable version of DCS. Changes come to the Open Beta version first and once bugs are fixed, they are moved to the Stable version. If it does match the version, try running a Repair. randomTOTEN Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Reminder that you do not need to download another installation of DCS World to use OpenBeta. The software has the ability switch versions via the updater program.
