Harker Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 If you want to turn off TACAN for EMCON reasons, you can use only the Receive function; that way, your aircraft is not transmitting. Also, the RF switch can be used to stop some of the aircraft's transmissions (QUIET) or stop all of them (SILENT). I don't know which of the two settings stops TACAN transmission though. Frederf Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Set it to receive only and an unused channel. That's as off as it seems to get while still allowing MIDS and not affecting other systems like RF Quiet switch.
