Mr. Big.Biggs Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Can someone please explain or point me to where I can figure out how to use the 5 mode select switch on my Virpil throttle. As of now all it does is change led colors. Seems like there has to be more. Thanks I9 (5Ghz turbo)2080ti 64Gb 3200 ram. 3 drives. A sata 2tb storage and 2 M.2 drives. 1 is 1tb, 1 is 500gb. HC_Official Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) in all honestly it is not much use thru the VPC config software, I used Joystick grrmlin to enhance the functionality of this selector, tho you have to create a new profile (no mode) one, see the tutorials in my signature for more info Edited July 20, 2020 by HC_Official No more pre-orders Click here for tutorials for using Virpil Hardware and Software Click here for Virpil Flight equipment dimensions and pictures. .
TomCatGoad Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 When your setting up the stick you can set it so it acts as a 5 way switch or so it changes the function of all the lower buttons on the throttle. So when it's in setting one and the lights are one colour all the buttons will have a different ID too setting 2 etc
Mr. Big.Biggs Posted December 11, 2019 Author Posted December 11, 2019 Thanks guys. I actually did find an unofficial written “manual” that sheds some great light on functionality. RedCylon Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Thanks guys. I actually did find an unofficial written “manual” that sheds some great light on functionality. Thanks Mind show me "the unofficial written “manual”"?
shagrat Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 I would appreciate any kind of manual official or not, as well! So mode switch has "---, ON, OFF, RTR, TGL, EXT" settings so apart from ON and OFF it isn't exactly clear what ToGgLe(?), ReTheRant(?), EXTension/EXTernal(?) would do. What does Button Matrix settings do? What are the parameters off for ALPS decoding do? How do I setup a virtual detent, without watching a 20 minute YouTube video? Shiny Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I found that using Joystick Gremlin in conjunction gave me the most flexibility. Plus, being able to map to keyboard presses means I don't have to map every single DCS module since they share many common keyboard combinations. And for other games which exceed 32 buttons, then Joystick Gremlin is required:
