Beamscanner Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) L&S/DT2 ageout does not match ageout of ranked track files ( 1 - 8 ). Put L&S/DT2 tracks at the edge of a TWS sweep and you'll see that they dim out before the radars even gotten back to revisit them. Dim should only occur when a revisit results in no detection. Track can be found here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4147257&postcount=1 Mods require separate threads for each item, but the forum will not allow me to upload the same track twice. Beamscanner Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 Re-opened, from dev: "Where is the bug? Contacts dim by time, no by radar position" Yes they do dim by time. But the time to dim in DCS is shorter than the longest revisit time. Meaning trackfiles could dim even if the target is detected on every scan. The fundamental point of dimming is to indicate to the pilot that the trackfile is starting to ageout as it hasnt been seen awhile. Imagine target X is at the left edge of a 1 bar scan, and target Y is centered in the same 1 bar scan. Target Y will be detected (revisited) on a regular and even schedule, but target X will have an irregular revisit schedule. Target X will have a short revisit, followed by a much longer revisit time while the radar scans across the right side of its scan area. The 'time to dim' should be extend long enough so that even off center tracks (like target X) can be revisited before initiating a dim.
