Capn kamikaze Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I was wondering what settings people are using, I am running it on a RTX2080, not the Ti version, just the standard one. So far it's working well, but I was wondering how to optimise it, FPS seems more than acceptable, so I'm looking to maximise graphics, especially wrt being able to spot bandits. One thing I really would like some advice on is does the screen resolution of my monitor settings have anything to do with the HMD, as that is only 1920x1080, and won't go any higher, so I was wondering how to set the HMD's resolution, or if DCS does that automatically?
Eaglewings Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) Congratulations on your Pimax. Do not own a Pimax but generally you want to play with steam supersampling and dcs graphic setting and get best visually and what is suitable for your system specs. Hopefully fellows who has it would make input. Your desktop monitor resolution does not have effect on that is set in your vr headset. Harlikwin Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Hello,I have a Pimax 5k+ running on a 8700k @4.8Ghz 2080ti 32Gigs RAM ,I run on these settings with very good results Pitool PD @1.2 Steam super sampling +33% DCS PD 1.5 Most settings in DCS on high Ok, I'm gonna chime in here not owning a pimax, so I could very well be wrong. But in general the experience with other headsets (WMR and occulus) has been not to mix-n-match different methods of super sampling. The general consensus is that the Seam SS is much better than DCS PD. Maybe someone could test, Pitool PD at 1 (native), DCS PD at 1, and then ramp up steam SS to as high as you can run and compare it to those settings. FWIW I'm running like 200% Steam SS with reverb and have good framerates. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).
