winch20010 Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Hello, I understand actually we have an issue with moving the TGP when doing Air to ground attacks. Waypoints are also moving and Cursor Zeroing is not yet implementing. is there any workaround as of today in order to use TGP and track moving objects ?? thanks !!
Harker Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 No, you still need a steerpoint for the initial slaving of the TGP and then it'll move as you slew. As a bonus, if you switch to another steerpoint while in AG CCRP with the TGP, the new steerpoint coordinates will change to the TGP's position and you'll immediately lose it, effectively. So for now, keep a sacrificial steerpoint for TGP use and don't change it while in AG CCRP mode. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord. winch20010 Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 ok ok, thanks for the confirmation :bye_2:
Deano87 Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Also be careful not to terrain mask (go behind a hill etc) the TGP while in AG CCRP Mode as the the point on the blocking hill can sometimes become the new SP location... ask me how I know lol You can however point-track a moving object without much issue. QuiGon Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Now if we only could edit existing and create new SPs by entereing coordinates... :music_whistling: Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Deano87 Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Now if we only could edit existing and create new SPs by entereing coordinates... :music_whistling: Er... We can! Well Kinda. You can edit existing SPs, just not create fresh ones. QuiGon Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Er... We can! Well Kinda. You can edit existing SPs, just not create fresh ones. I can edit existing ones? I didn't know. I guess I've always only tried to create new ones, because I usally fly on the BlueFlag server and there you only have a single WP, which isn't really sufficent for my needs :music_whistling: Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

They should give you at least a couple WPs. But yes, you can edit existing SPs. Well, that's something, thanks a lot for pointing this out as I've really never tried to edit an existing SP. That will be at least somewhat helpful :) Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Deano87 Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) Ask the BF guys (Discord is probably the best bet) to add 3-4 waypoints for the F-16s so you can at least plan a route of sorts. QuiGon Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Ask the BF guys to add 3-4 waypoints for the F-16s so you can at least plan a route of sorts. Yeah, that's what I would like to be able to do. Instead of bothering the BF guys i would rather see ED implementing this functionality soon. It can't be that much work, as the functionality to edit existing waypoints and even enter coordinates for new waypoints is already there. It's just that newly created waypoints don't show up in the HUD, HSD and HSI.
