dorianR666 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Steps to reproduce: 1) put your flight with an AI wingman and enemy flight very far away, in this track 300 nautical miles; both flights need to be high enough to not get obstructed by Earth 2) run the mission 3) wait for the wingman to report Result: AI wingmen will report enemy planes significantly beyond the maximum range of hornet's radar. In this track, they immediately spot a plane 300 NM away, despite the fact Hornet's radar's maximum range is 160 NM (and even then, it shouldnt see much at that distance). I've had AI wingmen to report planes even at 450 NM. The only limit seems to be the curvature of Earth. Expected result: AI wingmen shouldnt see and report hostiles above 160 NM. Frederf Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 It's probably RWR. If enemy emits and even if flight members are radar silent they'll see the enemy's radar emission. If you get enemy to radar silent wingman won't detect until much closer.

If you get enemy to radar silent wingman won't detect until much closer. Just tested it by forbidding the enemy to use radar - it is not the case. The AI wingman is using its own radar to find the enemy. RWR shouldn't allow the AI to know distance of the source anyway. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X GPU: AMD RX 580
dorianR666 Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 uhh, could someone please move this to the bug section? i should stop making these threads at 2 AM. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X GPU: AMD RX 580

Looking at the first thread, i even posted there myself. Too long ago for me to remember. All-seeing AI is gamebreaking but artificially limiting engagement range of Search and engage AI task in mission editor seems to help a bit. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X GPU: AMD RX 580
