worldsurfradio Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I saw in another posting that there is a download for a tailhook for the SU 25T by a guy called Brit (?) I think, any leads on where to get that?? Would be really cool to see an su-25UTG mod
Force_Feedback Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 It's not really the UTG, as it lacks the hook (so use your brake chute wisely). There is no known way other than a model swap with the su-33 (basically the su-33 with a different exterior). Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
worldsurfradio Posted December 9, 2007 Author Posted December 9, 2007 Where would I find the model swap
SoaringEagle74 Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Su-25T with tailhook? LOL. Isn't hard enough to land this "air truck" on a normal runway without trying for the absolute impossible?:music_whistling:
FVMAD Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1259947/L/ nice bird. people say Su-33 pilots trains to land on Su-25UTG on Kuznecov, and on Su-33 in Nitka on deck imitation.

Don't know much about su-25utg but if it resembles su-25t or su-39 it would be a b.tch to land on a carrier. This bird is h e a v y and quite irresponsive to input controls especially when your used to traditional fighters or even the plain su-25 and a-10a.

Force_Feedback Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 No, that's why the Su-33UK (Su-27KUB) was made, it deals with the performance issues, and is in fact a much more capable platform than the Su-33 (more powerful engines with TVC, AESA radar, A2G capability, vastly improves AA cap., bigger wing area, better flaps). Yes. But how many were built? 1. Prototype P.S. So they still train on Su-25UTG P.P.S. Su-33UB

SoaringEagle74 Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 do you compare with LO fighters and A-10? which are with SFM? Why are you confused with what I said? Su-25t is h e a v y... plain and simple! However that does not mean I dislike it...in fact it is very effective once you master it.
SoaringEagle74 Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Are your Control Inputs set to Linear? Yes indeed. I used to have them curved but switched to linear to make my life a bit easier with the bombers. Since then I noticed a huge improvement in maneuverability and over all performance...and not just with su-25t!
pureblue Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Yes indeed. I used to have them curved but switched to linear to make my life a bit easier with the bombers. Since then I noticed a huge improvement in maneuverability and over all performance...and not just with su-25t! I try flying with Linear settings but the plane wobbles so much, (Logitech Force3D) do you recommend any deadzones because its very difficult to just hold the joystick centered and fly straight? it always catches some roll or rudder input..
Weta43 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I use a MSFFB2 stick with forces enabled & I took the deadzones out completely - I also leave the slider just under 1 tickmark away from dead straight. If you have the force feedback enabled & no deadzones I find you feel the plane more and can make subtle movements to counter them, whereas with large deadzones you tend to overcontrol ... Cheers.
SoaringEagle74 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Unless your flight controls are very accurate(and expensive;)) I recommend using a small dead zone for inputs...about 1 tick mark. With no dead zone the plane will be somewhat unsteady when your flying hands off. With a big dead zone there is a tendency to oversteer since the controls are not responsive. I also have some rudder and throttle irregullarities. Normally you get what you pay for.:)
pureblue Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Yes I guess I need to invest more in this hobby, getting very expensive tho, a trackir, then a hotas, then a cockpit... :D
SoaringEagle74 Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Yes I guess I need to invest more in this hobby, getting very expensive tho, a trackir, then a hotas, then a cockpit... :D A trackir is not really necessary unless you specialize in a2a combat. I use my hat switch on the joystick and its ok. As far as hotas...well if you can afford it... good for you. From what I hear saitek is pretty good and costs a lot less.:smilewink: Just play around with your control inputs in options till you get it right. It shouldn't be too tough.
