Urshult Haze Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Copy from old "saved games map" to new. I wonder what I'm doing wrong? I have tried so many times to copy joystick controllers from one DCS installation to the other. Like this: Never made it! All I get is default! What am I missing?
Rudel_chw Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 What am I missing? Hi, Most likely, the name of your HOTAS device is not the same as it was when you created your backup. Urshult Haze Posted January 22, 2020 Author Posted January 22, 2020 So I can manually change the identification codes on the old ones to match the new ones? Wow! That is so good if working. Got to try that right now! Everything is the same but I have reinstalled windows! Thanks a lot!!!
Rudel_chw Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 .. Got to try that right now! Should work, please tell us how it went. Urshult Haze Posted January 22, 2020 Author Posted January 22, 2020 Total successes! I even took a backup from the old computer. (I really had it all sorted out then... never had the energy to fix it as good as that again) Had a renamer app on the mac that fix all those lua-files in one go. And viola! I never have to deal with those reponse curves again! :worthy: :pilotfly:
feefifofum Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Hi Urshult; if you're running batch converters the convenience factor there probably wins but for future reference for anyone who isn't that savvy- Open the controls page. Select the module from the drop down menu. Highlight the controller you want to load the profile by clicking in its column Click "load profile" Select desired profile with file browser (c:/users/USERNAME/Saved Games/DCS/config/input is the default location) Hit "ok" This will map buttons and axes 1:1 without fiddling with .luas and USB IDs. Yes .. the Mac has its nice points versus Windows, I use a really old Mac App for that, called NameMangler :) .. super easy to use, powerful and fast.
