HR-Crumble Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 Some of you have really sharp resolution and colour on your mfds. Mine are rubbish resolution and only white on black? Are you using a mod? My F-18 mfds are SUPER clear and crisp to read and when looking at IRL MFDs sat at the same FOV as my setup they are MUCH more clear and easy to read. Same with the HUD. Much finer and sharper font. In the link I send you can see 4 pictures of the MFDs, those one show red (unidentified), green (friendly) and blue (in your flight) contacts. Try buildind a mission with hostiles and a AWACS, you should see colors. (The TGP is in Black and white) In the link I send there is a file with a mod "F-16 MFD Readability", don't add colors but it has some better definition, see the pictures in the link. I dont' use it beacuse my HSI gets worst [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Vitor_Hugo Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 But Red doesn't mean hostile You have to press a long TMS left to IFF, if a green circule appears on the red contact it's a friendly If a red triangle contact is hollow it means that information is coming from other plane, not your radar. If you get trouble locking a contact check the contact Angels (altitude) and the antenna, you may have to lower the antenna or push it up so the contact should be in the antenna altitute range [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

It lacks the whole MSI functionality and the persistent HAFU logic. You can still see which contacts are friendly on the FCR, by performing an IFF interrogation, with TMS Left. Contacts that successfully reply will be shown with a green circle, with the number of the mode inside (we only have Mode 4 IFF for now). But the circle will go away after a second and you'll still be left with only the squares. You can only get friendly and hostile symbols (red triangles and green circles) if the contacts are donated via datalink and for that, you need aircraft that can class contacts as hostile or friendly, such as AWACS aircraft or the F-18. I’ve downloaded the zip file (thanks very much and great work) and have replaced to the two scripts files that are in it with the ones in my DCs folders. They are now brighter but aren’t as sharp as before? I have to really zoom in to read the font but it is brighter and bolder though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
