Luft Waffel Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 I was watching some videos of live fire AMRAAMs and they all had white vapour trails, they were not thick clouds but they were definitely still visible. I assume that the visibility of these probably depends on the weather but in DCS I never see any smoke coming from the missile even straight after launch. Other missiles have it such as the AIM-7H so I was wondering if they could perhaps include a less dense smoke trail to make it look more like the real thing. This also goes for the AIM-9x for example, on the videos it has a very faint smoke trail I cant remember seeing this in DCS.
razo+r Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 They apparently have them modeled in a dev version, maybe we'll see it soon. And the contrails depend on altitude, temperature, humidity etc.
nighthawk2174 Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 "soon" there are more than a few features that were showed off years ago that we have yet to see.
will- Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 its always evolving. they used to have smoke trails just like the aim 7 in game. Intel i9-9900K 32GB DDR4, RTX 2080tiftw3, Windows 10, 1tb 970 M2, TM Warthog, 4k 144hz HDR g-sync.
