Sofapiloz Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I just had a strange experience. When practicing BFM with the Cat, I saw twice after a 7G turn. As if I was totally drunk. Very narrow, clear field of vision, everything blurred around it, and everything double in the clear part of the field of vision. After abort and restarting the mission, everything was back to normal. A buddy in the German forum had the same problem with the Hornet landing on Nellis. So it doesn't seem to depend on the module. Both Rift S.
Fri13 Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I believe the double blurring is part of the new G-force effect. As you are not suppose to have a clear vision. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Sofapiloz Posted February 1, 2020 Author Posted February 1, 2020 If the effect only occurred during the turn, everything would be fine. But as written, the effect remains, even if you are flying straight and level again. And can only be turned off by restarting the mission.
Eldur Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I had this a lot until I put some correction lenses in my CV1. But that was due to my eyes being utter crap and unable to get a combined focus most of the time. I literally was totally cross-eyed without those lenses inside the Rift, resulting in double imagery all the time. That was especially obvious when trying to see though HUDs and having one LOS cross though things like the HUD cam in the F-14. And it was very extreme (and I still have it sometimes) in WW2 planes, and even much worse in that other sim (kudos to ED here), since you're actually looking at something that is very close, but also at a projection at the same time, that is infinitely far away. As there is no depth of field (which is great for me since I can't accomodate), the eyes have a hard time focussing on the right thing then.
Sofapiloz Posted February 1, 2020 Author Posted February 1, 2020 That would be one possibility. If I wasn't almost completely blind in the right eye. A correction lens on the left is also installed to compensate for a slight myopia there and because of the blue light filter. The phenomenon only occurs when looking into and out of the cockpit, the menus are still sharp and clear to read.

I realize it’s been awhile since this happened, but a similar thing happened the other day when I was flying the f86, turns out my oxygen wasn’t on and gradually things were starting to go double vision and blurry. I thought it was my VR headset at first but when I clicked on the O2 it went away quickly.
