Litening Pod, multi target, single pass using GPS Bombs

Hi all,

Apologies if this issue should be specific to F-18 Hornet. It seems to be a GPS guided bomb problem including JDAM'S and JSOWS when attacking multiple targets with multiple GPS bombs in a single pass.

When attempting a multiple target, single pass bombing run using the litening pod to designate targets and gps guided bombs (J-82) all bombs track last target.

From TOO Mode, target can be designated ok using litening pod.

Then switched to PP Mode to hand off coordinates, then when STEP is pressed, whilst in PP Mode, (to select next station) the MFD changes to TOO mode.

Not sure if this is where the bug is (previous versions MFD would stay in PP Mode after STEP was pressed)

Below is each step in the process. Youtube videos can verify this process as working in earlier versions

PROCESS:

Inbound with four J82's on four seperate stations.

Select J82 and set Efuse to instant

Select JDAM DISPLAY and then QTY (in this case STA2, STA7, STA3, STA

then RTN

Select TOO Mode and then MSN page

Use the litening pod to designate first target then press TDC whilst in PTRK mode.

Coordinates of target 1 appear in TOO Mode page, then Switch to PP Mode, then STEP to select next station.

Designate target 2 with pod in PTRK mode and press TDC to designate

New coordinates appear in TOO Mode page, Switch to PP Mode, then STEP to select next station.

I do the same for the next two stations and wait to the 'IN RANGE' HUD que before releasing the four bombs...

The bombs all track to the last target.

deathbysybian wrote up an excellent post that describes how the system works after the big STEP/POWER update for designating multiple targets for 8 JDAMs/JSOWs in TOO mode: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=258579

The jist of it:

- You don't need to use QTY selection anymore to enable STEP, QTY causes all selected stations to share the same TOO coordinates (basically only use QTY if you want to attack the same target with multiple weapons).

- Keeping QTY un-boxed will permit each station to have its own individual set of TOO coordinates.

- Different stations can be on different modes (PP/TOO), so you'll need to step through each and manually switch them from PP to TOO.

- After designating a target for a weapon, use undesignate (NWS button) before stepping to another station, or the coordinates in the next station will be overwritten.
