Weather settings: Base 2000 Thickness 3000 Density 9 Rain @ 26K 60kts Dir 311 @ 6.6k 33kts Dir 270 @ 1.6k 29 kts Dir 210 @ 33 ft 14kts Dir 210 Rain doesn't fall in 210 direction at the carrier deck. I think it's falling at the 311 direction set at 26,000 feet.
Callsign JoNay Posted February 25, 2020 Author Posted February 25, 2020 Happens gradually over the course of a mission. Rain falls correctly to the wind on mission start, gradually shifts over the next 30-90 mins.
Callsign JoNay Posted February 25, 2020 Author Posted February 25, 2020 87 minutes into my mission: Notice FPM near the center of the HUD, offset only by the small amount of crosswind normally experienced by lining up to the angled deck, yet the rain is coming in like a hurricane almost perpendicular to my path, from the right to left. Rain direction seems fine during start up and first catapult departure, but shifts to directions that contradict wind flow during the course of the mission.

Callsign JoNay Posted March 27, 2020 Author Posted March 27, 2020 I've attached a track replay in case the rainfall direction is not clear through the youtube video's compression. How to watch the track replay: -Watch it first through from ship view. View track from beginning to end and note the direction of the rainfall. -Watch the track again this time from the cockpit view. Change back to the ship view after the F-18 climbs to 6000 ft and note the change in rain direction. Go back to cockpit view and wait for the F-18 to climb to 30,000 ft, then go back to ship view and note the change in rainfall direction again. Wind direction is not being affected. The wind is staying as set in the mission editor, but the direction of the rainfall becomes contradictory to the wind direction when navigating the 3D space from the cockpit view.Rain Direction Glitch Shorter.trk
