Stratos Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Is currently possible to make the airplanes launch the missiles at half the MAX distance. Is a nice touch, but is possible somehow to make the same for the air defence units somehow? I searched the same "option" without luck. Any idea? I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 You would need to set the alarm state of a SAM site, you can do that via a triggerzone and the alarm state of a group's controller. Check out my IADS script if you wan't a more challenging environment: https://github.com/walder/Skynet-IADS It will enable the radar of sam sites, once a target is within maximum firing range, later I may add the option for SAM sites to fire only at closer range. However smaller units like the SA-6 need up to 25 seconds of tracking time until they fire. Depending on your speed you will already be very close, since the sam goes live relatively close. doedkoett Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Maybe setting the unit ROE to "hold fire*" and have a trigger zone with a radius of the desired launch distance which commands a change in the unit ROE to "Fire at will*" whenever a blue coalition unit enters it could work? But that would have the unit fire at any blue unit within it´s entire range, so it´s not exactly what you´re after. *Don´t remember the exact terms used in the ME

Pikey Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Waiting to shoot when you are closer only increases their lethality. Of course, I think it is assumed you know exactly where the sam and AAA is, it sounds like it. The default AD behaviour is the least challenging setup, any tinkering whether the sam/aaa turns on late will result in an increase of it's lethality and surprise. Thus the only thing that will help you is if they are more inaacurate or shoot slow, which is the Skill setting. There's nothing else that will fit your requirements as stated, within the SSE, only skill level (reaction time) and wether it is on or off. I dont struggle with AAA myself. Just keep an unpredictable course and the bullet travel time works for you.
