[NO BUG] Nav/Targeting glitch

Apologies if this is already noted somewhere. I don't see it anywhere.

 

We have always used the abandoned X runway just south of KBL for bombing practice. Using DEG-MIN-SEC (non-precision) coordinates has always put weapons very close to the runway intersection.

 

Yesterday I noticed WPDSG put the target diamond hundreds of yards away from the X. I re-confirmed the coordinates from the F-10 map, and re-entered them as a HSI waypoint, including elevation.

 

Same result. Target diamond is now hundreds of yards away from the X.

Your coordinate format is in Degree-Decimal-Minutes (DDM). You can change the format between DDM and DMS on the HSI->DATA->A/C subpage with the OSB in the bottom-right corner.

The DDM (Degrees Decimal Minutes) co-ordinates in your picture

 

• N41° 50.31'

• E41° 47.52'

 

are not those of the center "X" which is

 

• N41° 50' 31" = N41° 50.52'

• E41° 47' 52" = E41° 47.87'

 

The HUD designation diamond looks to be correct.

 

Note: You can cycle the format of the F10 map co-ordinates with LAlt + Y

:sad_2: Damn. Exactly right. I KNOW better than that... I hadn't set it up in so long that I forgot that step.
