DmitriKozlowsky Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) No mission will start. Not even Instant Action. Loading missions into Mission Editor freezes DCS. Going into Options, then OK to exit fails to change settings. HOTAS controller, in my case X56 and Thrustmaster T-Rudder Pedals are no longer read. They work in Windows joy.cpl. Going into Encyclopedia freezes DCS. Going into Logbook freezes DCS Ran repair. Ran Update. All OK, but DCS no longer works. .44266 has totally destroyed my DCS. First time I ran DCS , after latest update , Norton 360 issued suspicious activity alert for DCS.exe. I allowed it DCS.exe to continue and created exemption. Version is 2.5.6.44266 Log attacheddcsLog.txt Edited March 5, 2020 by DmitriKozlowsky
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 5, 2020 ED Team Posted March 5, 2020 Hi Something is blocking DCS CreateFile(C:\Users\DaveR\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config/options.lua): Access is denied. Most likely you antivirus, you may need to add DCS to your exclusion or whitelist. Also you are running a lot of unofficial mods. It is always wise to remove them before doing an update. I recommend you remove all unofficial mods and run a cleanup and then a repair Thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? DmitriKozlowsky Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) I did add DCS.exe and dcsupdate.exe to ALLOW. But no-go. 2.5.6. just prior to today's update worked fine. Edited March 5, 2020 by DmitriKozlowsky
DmitriKozlowsky Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 Had to RUN.exe to ALLOW also. THat was also being blocked.
DmitriKozlowsky Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 WHy is it all of a sudden Norton is blocking processes by DCS, not just .exe, as of today's 2.5.6.44266 build.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 5, 2020 ED Team Posted March 5, 2020 Changes made to protection triggered false positives in many antivirus. You can exclude / add dcs to the whitelist or wait for your antivirus definitions to update. Once your anti virus no longer blocks DCS you will need to do a cleanup and repair or verify for steam users. thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
