mastershotgun Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Hi Guys, There is surprisingly very little in the official (DCS) manuals about history of these planes in comparison to other planes... Why? And where would you suggest to look for something official and solid? Of course I tried stuff like google and wiki etc. they have inconsistent data
Rudel_chw Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 (edited) This one is a pretty nice documentary: QgTIIjZoD2E Couldn't find a higher resolution version :( Edit: Here is a better quality one, the Su-25 is at minute 38 or so: aTbhH2p052M Edited March 8, 2020 by Rudel_chw For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
TexacoStovner Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 I found the book "Su-25 "Frogfoot" units in combat" by Mladenov to be very good. Published by Osprey. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/25-Frogfoot-Units-Combat-Aircraft/dp/1472805674) Tracks the Su-25 history up to about 2008 (Georgia conflict).
Fri13 Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 I want to see the three attack/strike aircrafts in DCS. 1) Su-25A or SM 2) MiG-27 (with KAIRA) 3) Su-24 I would be then happy to accept anything else for blufor (same periods) like F-111 etc. But when it comes to find more information about those and their systems, it pretty much is just those videos posted. The iron curtain of information is still there for westerns. There seems to be much information for East or especially Russians. But nothing like how to see and find for civilians in West. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
TexacoStovner Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Zvezda (Звезда) the Russian DODs TV channel did one of those action steadicam productions on the latest sm3 upgrade a week or so ago. In russian (obv) so YT auto translate until a texted version appears on YT.
